Solve : System Sound Settings Problem? |
|
Answer» I cannot figure out what is causing this problem. For no reason, my master system volume will go up to its maximum and when I try to drag it BACK down, it just goes right back up. I have a relatively new Dell laptop with a docking STATION. Windows XP. I am usually running Microsoft OUTLOOK, AutoCAD 2005, and Windows Media Player. It has happened before with nothing running at all. It will also affect my mouse, where I cannot right-click, and if I left-click it starts highlighting THINGS as I MOVE the mouse. If I type, I get capital B's and lowercase b's. Sometimes when I click Shutdown it won't, and I have to manually reboot. Scan for viruses, spyware and trojan horses. Ran Spy-Bot, Ad-Aware, and Norton (updated this morning) and nothing. All clean. Is there a driver conflict? Or maybe something with the soundcard? It doesn't seem to happen when the laptop is not docked. As suggested scan for trojans>http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ you have stated is only occurs when is docked....therefore you are on the net yes/no.. |
