Solve : System turns off on moving files?

Answer»

This may really be a hardware thing.

Hard Drives do not take much POWER. But they do require the power to be steady and free of noise. But the fact that it happens only when you are doing something intensive would suggest that is is not an issue with the drives and the PSU.

My best guess is that your CPU and FAN WARE not working well together. The CPU OVERHEATS and the system goes down. Check you FAN. Bllow out the dust. While you are in there, blow the dust out of the PSU also.Well just when I think I pin pointed this problem it happens in a whole different way. I clicked on my web browser to check my mail this morning and boom system goes down. Im wondering if this could possible be a video card issue (Nvidia GTX 260)

I will REPORT back on how moving smaller clumps of files works. And to answer your question jj no I have moved large quantities of files around on a harddrive with no issues.

**When I try to add my minidump file into a zip I get this message.*
"File not found or no read PERMISSION"
