Solve : Sytem Restore not working!? |

Answer» For the past 3 weeks, somehting has been blocking me for trying to enter a few sites, and when i clicked on a link, it wouldnt go the page, i would get this sound, adn i couldnt even have ti open in a new WINDOW, i turned my opo-up blocker off, and it still blocked it. since i couldnt find what was doing this, i decieded to use System Restore to a differnt point. I tried to restore 3 times, and it didnt work, it said it was Incomplete, i even tried differnt dates adn it still didnt work.What websites are these? i would get this sound What firewall is installed? It's pretty much any random site, i could be viewing any site (even this one) adn when i clikc on the link, it blocks it, and i cant even open in a new window. Quote What websites were you trying to visit? Disable the firewall to see if the problem still arises. Also reset Internet Explorer's security zones back to default. Are you using Service Pack 2? Quote Are you using Service Pack 2? I really dont know. You did not do all of what I suggested. If you aren't sure wheter you have Service Pack 1, 2 or NONE do the following: 1. Right click on My Computer 2. Properties 3. General tab.Service Pack 2. Quote Disable the firewall to see if the problem still arises. Just tried it and it still doesnt work.What exactly did your scanners find and which ones have you used?I used: AVG Spybot Search and Destroy Trend Micro McAfee Virus Scanner Adaware I didnt find anything, except with Adaware, its just small thingsWhat do you call small things? Try using Windows XP Anti spyware from Microsoft. It is also in the list. |
