Solve : Taskbar has disappeared? |
|
Answer» My son has a 3 year old Dell Laptop with Windows XP. Press START on the keyboard then go to the control panel, search for TASKBAR & STARTMENU ignore this. explorer isn't loaded and as such it hasn't hooked the Windows key to show the start menu, which wouldn't show anyway since it is part of the previously mentioned not loaded explorer. Also for the same reason explorer hasn't run and hasn't made the screen-sized invisible listview control that it then subclasses and intercepts mouse clicks to show the menu you describe. Without explorer, the desktop is simply a picture. Or in the most drab scenario a single colour. Thanks BC_Programmer. Looks like that will take care of it. BC_Programmer.
