Solve : Temporary Intenet Files?

Answer»

G'day all, I'm new to this Internet. Running Windows 98, noticed that the Temporary Internet Files folder contains about 80MB of data, JPG's, bmp's etc. Can I simply delete these and not affect the operation of the COMPUTER. I desperately need the extra storage space. You can delete all but the text files without harm. Deleting the text files will cause internet passwords to not be remembered, so you'd have to reenter the passwords. But that's a small price to pay in exchange for... 80 MB??? Wow... a useful tool for cleaning all the junk off ur computer would be to download CCleaner (or Crap Cleaner). it deletes all temporary file folders and it can also delete unused registry entries. (u would be surprised as to how MUCH data gets used for temporary use. i THINK the last time i scanned with ccleaner i had 160mb's of crap)

u can download CCleaner from here HTTP://www.ccleaner.com/Even better, a program that comes with Windows:
Click START, then PROGRAMS, then ACCESSROIES, then SYSTEM TOOLS, and find Disk Cleanup.
Select the things that you want deleted, (be sure Temporary Internet Files is selected), and then click OK, and the files will be deleted for you.
What comes with Windows won't get the job done right. CCleaner is an excellent tool and works. You know, just before I followed the link in my email to this page (because of a notification) I knew that someone would say something like that.

(I don't really see what people have against Windows, but I think I will start another forum to find out about that)Ccleaner cleans up more than Windows Disk Cleanup and it's 1000 times faster.
I like Windows, some of them anyway.
