Solve : the infamous 34 minute problem. PLEASE HELP?

Answer»

Here's the deal. I have a hp compaq nc8000 that belongs to a friend of mine. I have been trying to install xp pro for a WEEK now. I have xp pro w/sp3......and it got stuck. I tried SLIPSTREAMING the compaq drivers.........and it got stuck. I even tried to install just a "bare bones" xp pro with no added driver PACKS and no sp updates, and guess what>>>> IT'S STILL GETTING STUCK. I am at wits end. Any suggestions. HP is no help at all.See here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/828267/en-usi have already been through all of that and it has been no help. I tried to remove the hardware drivers when slipstreaming that did not go with the machine and added in the ONES i downloaded from hp. i hate dealing with laptop os installs. Compaq nc8000
Quick search found TWO stores that sell that thing refurbishes for about $335 or less. If it is the exact same thing, buy it, clone the HDD and resell it.Quote from: Geek-9pm on February 14, 2010, 07:43:58 PM
