Solve : To reset my mouse click settings??

Answer»

Hello and thank you for looking at my thread.

I use my mouse with my left hand and used to have it set to right click for copy and PASTE functions.
A couple of days ago I "found" an area where I could change the mouse settings and changed the right click to paste on click function.

Since, I have found that this is not what I want.

I had set my mouse to right click paste function, just to try it out and find it no value for me.
Unfortunately I cant find the section where I set it, and don't know how to change it back.
Can someone TELL me how to undo this function please?

I am using Windows XP on this machine, SP3. I have looked in the control Panel for mouse settings, but they differ from the area where I set this up.

Thank you ImnoGuru.Go to start > programs and look for the brand of your mouse. There should be an option for settings which is usually different than control panel.Thank you rthompson80819 for your reply.

I dont quite know what it is you are saying here.

Go to start/ programs. Look for the mouse? ... Would that be in control panel?
or as a program for the mouse in the programs?

I have been to the CP and mouse ... drivers so on. Reset the settings eg use default. restarted. No change.. I have also done a restore for a week ago with no change.
I only changed this setting yesterday or 2 days ago maybe.

I "found" this settings change in some box that came up but can not remember where I found it and I haven't been able to find it again so far. It said .. for right mouse click to insert paste, check this box.... type of thing.

Would it be in the history at all?

My problem is that when I go to a web page and click in the taskbar, the last remembered copied item, is inserted, the paste box also comes up however, the paste function doesn't INTAKE the newest copied item. When I click on paste, the TITLE bar already has the last remembered copied item but does not replace that with the newest copied item.
I hope I have explained that adequately.Did you install a driver for this mouse? If so, that should have included software to control the functions for your specific mouse. Look on the desktop or in Programs.Thank you for your reply Allan. SORRY I haven't been able to get back to say TA for so long.
Christmas lead up has been more than full for me.
As it seems I had another problem and ended up having to do a restore on the drive. The first time it didn't change those settings for the mouse so I went further back and tried again and success. I don't know why I didn't think of doing that in the first place.
I think it was just stress.

Well all is good here finally and I'm back into action.
Once again thanks for your input.

Now to get back into learning something about webpages and how to build one.
