Answer» Just another DeerPark - Strangely it is telling me to log-on as an Administrator to make the changes however, I have logged on as Admininstrator (very strange that). Consequently, it won't maintain the changes I am making in msconfig (I'll try again tomorrow).Yes that does sound strange. It makes me believe Broni was on to something when he suggested this: Quote from: Broni on October 23, 2007, 09:49:12 PM Try to boot as another user (create one, if you don't have one), adjust your settings to your LIKE, restart, and see if settings will hold.Your user MIGHT have been corrupted somehow. I would try creating another user (with ADMIN privileges of course) and see if that will let you edit settings, change sound volume, etc. Quote from: steve 1962 on October 25, 2007, 07:03:47 AM do you have an answer for the very first question of mine which relates to hyperlinks ?Sorry, can't help you there.Quote Strangely it is telling me to log-on as an Administrator to make the changes however, I have logged on as Admininstrator (very strange that). Since the sound when Windows opens is a .wav file as are all the other alarms and sounds I doubleclicked on the volume control and lowered the volume on the Wave icon. Off course, the volume will also be low on any wav files that you WANT to play. |
