Answer» After a normal day using my laptop i SHUT it down ,just to find out the next day that it woudn't start or pass this error message PXE-E61 media test failure,check cable and blah blah blah over and over..... Please help I don't know what to do. I have the backup cds that was made when I first got it 4 months ago but i don't know how to do it or if i should do it at all.... When I encountered this problem on an HP Laptop, I started removing/swapping/reseatting RAM modules(make sure they are properly seated), Check for any wires LOOSE, Reinserted Network Card and the CMOS(nickel) Battery and thankfully it work. So its either a hardware is loose or failing, but most I think it just needs a reset from the battery to reconfigure. If there is are 2 beeps(short/long), then its likely a failed hardware.
