Answer» I'm trying to replace the hard drive in my Panasonic TOUGHBOOK w/ PIII, XP, & a 12G IBM HD replacing a Fujitsu 12G'er that was apparently corrupted (...no save to disk file...?).
Loading Windows XP fails, giving the following (in RED):
"System will not boot. Hard drive not found. Save to disk feature disabled. Insert removable hard drive..."
How do I introduce the new hard drive to its COWORKERS?
Thenz in advenz,
CDid you load the hard drive on this machine or is it expecting the hardware of it's former residence? If blank, is it a model known to be compatible with the Toughbook? Is it seen in the BIOS?HD is blank/refurbished. I see BIOS in Set Up mode, but don't understand.
How do I determine from BIOS if the IBM HD replacing the ORIGINAL Fujitsu HD is compatible with this Panasonic Toughbook?
THX,
CIt should be compatible unless IBMs protection routines have been set up. Does the BIOS setup see the drive CORRECTLY?
