Solve : Transfer between Win XP Hm Ed. 32-bit and Win 7 Home Prem. 64-bit?

Answer»

Hello,

I sincerely apologize if this topic has already been discussed I did do a search and found nothing.

I am buying a new computer that has a dvd drive, and has MS Win 7 Home Prem. 64-bit edition.
My previous computer had MS Win XP Home Ed. 32-bit, with MS Office 2000, I made many backup files which
I have STORED on dvd and cd disks.

Will I need a 3rd party device or software to transfer these BACKED up files on-to my new system
from the disks. Or do you just PLACE the disks in the dvd drive and Win 7 does the rest, I don't
understand if there would be a conflict between WinXP 32-bit and Win 7 64-bit.

Thank you.

Yes and provided the CD or DVD are not damaged you can transfer files from discs to your computer's hard drive by WINDOWS Explorer, copy-paste.
Thank you for your response.
I would be MOVING backup files to my new computer which are made with MS Office 2000.
Do I understand correctly that you can move files from a 32-bit system to a 64-bit system?

Thank you.Certainly.
