Answer» I know I can apply it but forgot. Trying to get the desktop icon panels to be transparent without sacrificing video performanceDo you mean the icons themselves, or the background behind the text?
[glb]Flame[/glb]No, just the text area of the icon. I know I have been able to make a settings change but ,of course, forgot. control panel / system / advanced / performance tab / settings button and put a checkmark in>>the use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop Thanks Merlin2 (and Flame also) for the help. I did TRY what you SUGGESTED , Merlin , but I lost a little of my "CRISP" display. I'm using a crt type monitor and that setting does adversly affect it. I went back and selected "best performance" setting . That brought back my good display quality but I'm sure it is slowing me down a TAD. Running a 800 mhz box but have seperate pci video and 512 mb of ram. Got to get all I can out of this ho-hummer. Sorry I did not get back to you sonner on my reply but with the hollidays and all. Thanks again for the help. Hope I can help one of you in FUTURE.
