Answer» hey there i am currently running windows xp and... i am having some TROUBLE opening my folders, everytime i double click on a folder to open it, it runs a search. i think it has something to do with folder options>>file types but it says that the default for folders is to open them
any help would be much appreciated thank you!!How long has this been happening? Have you MADE any changes to your computer recently? Have you tried System Restore? What protection software do you have?this has been heppening for 3 days now i have changed some of my icons but thats about it i havent tried system restore i have mcafee firewall and virus scanWhat icons did you change? If you change them back to the default, does it make a difference? If not, I have two suggestions:
1. Use System Restore to go back to sometime earlier in the week. Your files won't be deleted, but you may need to reinstall some programs that have been installed recently.
2. Download CCleaner (install without Yahoo! toolbar) and clean out your temp files and registry (be sure to backup). Then download AVG Free, update it, and scan in Safe Mode.Go to Start/Run and type in the following exactly and hit Enter....reboot and see if it behaves now...
regsvr32 /i shell32.dllthanx for the help, it works fine now i just USED System Restore and went back to last week and all is working.
thnx again!Glad to hear things are working out now. Post back if you need anymore help.
