Answer» FIRST off I am an idiot on computers, I have windows XP home version when I get a video on email some will run and some wont. I get a message saying no file to support this. I think it is related to power point but that is a guess. HELP. Tom THANKS FOR ALL THE HELPWhat are the file extensions of those videos, you're getting (extension = three letters after 'dot", like "somemovie.avi", where "avi" is an extension). What program are you using to open those files?Download video codac and install it. Its AVAILABLE on www.freedownload.com Your videos may work. Telling the user to download some random "video codac" (I assume you mean codec) is not good advice milind717. There are hundreds of video codecs available. That's why Broni is asking about what types of files the user can't play. Furthermore the site you linked to is just a PARKED domain, which only purpose is to generate ad revenue, it is not a real website. I beleive the letters I have seen were PPS I haven't tried to run one for quite a while. Thanks TomThose are PowerPoint presentations...you may need MSOffice updates unless you have a PPT viewer installed....Powerpoint Viewer downloadI have power point viewer installed I also downloaded power point 2003 a while ago I got a forward and a message came up "Windows MEDIA cannot play this file ,,might not support this file type or might not support the codec used to compress this file" Now what? TomTry Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2007: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/Other-Office-Tools/PowerPoint-Viewer.shtml If that doesn't work, most likely the file is corrupted. If Windows Media Player is opening when you try to open a pps file, there could be a PROBLEM with file association. Did you ever try to open pps with Media Player? If you did it once, it will always try to open such files with the media player. You will have to right click the file, save it somewhere on your computer and then right click the file and select "open with" then select your pp viewer. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307859 |
