Solve : tutorials from craft site will not work in you tube?

Answer»

The craft site I use gives useful TUTORIALS from you tube. My Samsung laptop(only a few months old) will not play them. Samsung have given various SUGGESTIONS. Check with ISP, carry out basic recovery, up date flashplayer etc. I have updated flashplayer. I am not keen to carry out recovery or ISP (BT) until I have checked with CH.
I have checked with my old computer and the problems is the same.
I am on windows 7 64bitWhat happens when you try to play a video? Does it simply do nothing or does it start to play and then stop to buffer more content into memory, and then start, stop, start, etc.?

Visit speedtest.net and run a speed test. Let's see how fast your Internet connection is working.Thank you Soybean for replying. I have run the speed test and the outcome is - download 0.25mbps and upload0.72mbps. Unfortunately this doesn't mean anything to me. I have never carried out that test before. I don't play videos apart from INSTRUCTIONAL videos to do with my electronic organ, and they play alright. It seems you tube is the problem, because when I have been on another organ site, the same problem arises. Sometimes it stops and starts, somtimes doesn't play at all. Thanks again, for taking the trouble to try and sort this out. Look forward to hearing from you. EdnaQuote from: dinkie on February 27, 2013, 04:12:53 AM

It means your Internet connection is rather slow. I just ran a test from my computer. My download speed was 9.72 Mbps, which is 38.88 times faster than your download speed. No wonder you can't play smooth youtube videos.

By the way, download speeds are usually faster than upload speeds. Since yours were the opposite, this is another indication of something awry with your ISP.

I suggest you run a few more speed tests at various times of the day and write down the results of each test. Then, if the tests show a consistently slow connection, contact BT. Find out what your speed with BT's SERVICE should be. At http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/broadband/packages, BT says they have download speeds up to 16Mbps. That would be 64 times (16/0.25) faster than the speed you got from your test. Thanks again, Soybean. I have contacted BT and I await their reply.Hello again, Soybean
BT are suggesting installing a broadband accelerator, cost 1.50 postage. I am thinking about trying it. What are you thoughts on it. They show a video of how to install it..........well the video didn't work,........
Thanks in advance, EdnaApparently, this is what they are talking about: http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=25075. See other pages there too, such as http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12692/c/346

I would try it. Then, if your connection is still slow, I'd call them again.

Thanks again, Soybean. At such a low outlay, it is worth it.Hello Soybean
Thought I would let you know how things are progressing............very slowly as it happens.. Bt have said there is a problem with the line, and are investigating, so it is in their hands now, and I would like to thankyou once again for your help. So I will say the problem is sorted, it is now up to BT.Thanks for the update. Hope the situation improves soon.
