Answer» after two weeks i can´t browse certain sites with firefox or with ie: cnn, fox, abc, aljazeera, panda software, debian.org, google groups, etc. if i try any of the above sites, after a long wait i get this messge: "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.cnn.com"
i´m runing XP pro sp2 with nod 32 and outpost pro firewall. connect to the web trough a modem router. i´ve checked my system with ad aware, spybot, ewido, a-squared, bit defender online and hijackthis and none found any kind of malware or virus. i FOLLOWED microsoft instructions to flush dns´s, to reset dns´s...it didn´t HELP.... also checked/ renamed/ hosts file and there is nothing wrong with it.... i´ve another pc sharing the connection since LAST monday and from it i navigate everywhere without any problems! can you pls. help? thanks! So you are 100% sure it is the software or configuration it sounds like. Do you have a real Windows CD to reinstall with if necessary? Was a real one used for this installation?well, it looks like a software or configuration problem. i tested with a different modem/router... unisnstalled nod 32 and outpost... and the problem persists.
