Solve : Unable to install Windows updates?

Answer»

I reinstalled Windows XP SP2 to cure a booting problem. Now I am UNABLE to download/install any of the 79 updates Microsoft tells me I need, including IE7. When I CLICK "Express Install" I get a message "Some updates could not be installed" followed by a LIST of all 79 updates. I would appreciate some help.Did you look here?

No error number, just the standard message that updates were not installed. I was instructed to go to my download history for an explanation, but all I get from doing that is the message that I have not downloaded any updates. Duh.Install Firefox, go here: http://windowsupdate.62nds.com/, and see, if you can get them from there.Broni, thank you. I was able to install SOME updates, but not all, using the Firefox site you gave me. I finally took the computer to a tech repair place, and the guy was great. Working on his Ph.D. in computer science at UC Santa Cuz, and he's a helluva repairman. Still, it took him an hour and a half to find what he needed from Microsoft and get them to allow the updates. I sat with him the whole time and was very impressed, and grateful.

Thanks again. Problem solved!Cool
