Solve : Unable to install xp pro?

Hi There.
This is very strange to me any how.
My daughter has bought a pacdard bell lap top in france evering is in french and is windows 7.
So she has bought a genuine xp pro windows disc.
When i try to install it it loads files and get to the load windows when i get blue screen and ERROR mess
Stop: 0x0000007b(0xf78e2640,0x0000034,0x00000000.0x00000000)
Any thoughts?

The link to Microsoft well that just lost me. we do not have backup COMPUTER at all!
What we have is a new but French LAPTOP with win 7 installed and a new xp pro cd.
I gather from what i have READ that there may be missing drivers in the mother board is this correct and if so
how can this be corrected.

You'll have to get them from Packard Bell. Maybe you can get the original CD from them if you supply them your serial number. Packard Bell is no longer sold in North America.

You should check packard bell's website to make sure that they have XP drivers for that computer before installing. If they don't have drivers for XP then you'll probably be stuck with win7.All sorted now.
