I have an Acer laptop Aspire 4710 , was running vista then stopped with an ERROR message
[0x0000007b] and i was unable to run vista again.
I run Fdisk to format MBR and then repatition the disk then formated the drive , run scandisk to ENSURE the disk was ok.
I have tried to load XP pro and have tried Vista but COME up with the same fault , not able to see the hard drive when starting to load xp or vista in.
Note i can load 98se in with no faults system works , no faults with the HDD.


Do you have legit Windows XP CD, and Vista DVD?
Are you trying to boot from those disks?
What is exact message?Yes i have legit CD of xp pro with sp2 , Vista and win 98se .
Error code as above was sent to microsoft and instuctions were to test for avirus on the MBR if this did not work ,fdisk the Hdd and format it again but still unable to load xp or vista . Fault Message When Loading is .

Check for viruses on your computer . remove any newly installed hard drive or hard drive controller make sure it is properly configured and TERMINATED . run chkdsk /f to check hard disk for corruption then restart your computer .

If i use the seagate disk MANAGER or Fdisk the hard drive then format it no errors come up and all is good checks out ok .Use the Seagate utility to write all zeroes to the drive and try to re-install using Windows also to delete and re-create the partitions...
