for the last couple of days my computer will not stay on. I would turn it on and within 2 minutes it will power off, the computer will go off but the light on the fronts stays lit. to nights ago it stayed on LONG enough for me to run a virus scan and downs load worm removal from Microsoft but nothing came up with either, it reported not worm or virus. This MORNING I tryed it and as soon as i hit power you can her the fan and power come on but it instantly goes off again. I work at home on my computer and I do not know what to do. PLEASE HELP!!!! I dont know if it makes a difference or not but I run xp Pro. on my pc.

                                                          TinaProbably a bad motherboard or power supply. If you have experience and WANT to change it you can, but taking it to a shop is not a bad idea either.  I had the computer checked out today and at first they thought the power supply but then found out it was the mainboard that was fried. They recomended that I change out the main board and the cpu together. Its just has not been a good week


                                            TinaAt least you're going to back up soon!  yep, I guess you have to look on the bright side of it, I did not lose my info and I should be back to normal tomorrow. :-/
