Answer» Hi All, I wanna uninstall my existing WINDOWS xp home from my laptop. and when i m trying to formate my systemdrive " c " its not formatting it. i m using c:\> format c: and its telling me C:\>format c: The type of the file SYSTEM is NTFS. WARNING, ALL DATA ON NON-REMOVABLE DISK DRIVE C: WILL BE LOST! Proceed with Format (Y/N)? y Verifying 35032M And not doing anything .. and suggestion how i can format/ unistall my windowsxp from this laptop ?Why are you reinstalling Windows? What are you BOOTING with? What are you trying to accomplish after uninstalling XP? If you are just going to re-install Windows or install some Linux distro just put the BOOTABLE CD/DVD in, reboot booting off the DISC instead of the hard drive. The Windows or other OS's install disc should repartition and/or reformat as part of a clean in stall. windows xp disk formats the hdd and then proceeds to install windows |
