my laptop was working fine this MORNING....then on a restart it ended up missing a DLL. I hoped i could take it of the cd. so i installed xp home again. it got to a point where it said it already had c:windows. so i created a new file and named it windows2. is the a way i can remove the 2nd file and just use the original since it has all my settings and programs there?

At the advanced STARTUP screen choose "Last Known Good Configuration".
