Solve : unlock hard drive in windows me? |

Answer» When I try to run the scan disk or defrag a message pops up stating that my hard drive is locked thus not allowing the scan disk/defrag to OPERATE. I thought it possible that my anti virus program MAY have locked up the drive so I uninstalled it but Im still having the PROBLEM. I ended up UNINSTALLING any and all utility programs I downloaded just in case one was causing the problem without positive results. I tried using the DOS PROMPT for windows 98 (unlock c:) since there was no prompt listed for windows ME however that didnt work. Bottom line, can someone tell me how to unlock the hard drive in windows ME? |
