I need to add FileName to header..

I can almost do with Quick Parts insert Field "FileName" in to headers, The only problem it does not update unless printed or previewed.

I need this to update on SAVED and CLOSED, so do I have to create a macro to do this.


I already have a macor to save file in dated folders which works GREAT.. pretty much don't want to have to mess with them.

Prefebably a sigle overall macro

you cant GO to view header footer an change it?  a goup of ppl will be using the template, this needs to be automated as surely there will be one individual who may forget, and its vital its updatedI could create a macro to record keystokes, and use that to update the field.

However:
Whats the keystroke to update a field (right click don't work while recording a macro)

And how do incorparate a macro to run on doc closeyou'd gone BEYOND the understanding of the program to my knowdlge, so in other words I cant help you since I dont know.  Thought that it was a simple header error.
