Answer» After installing a Windows update (several TIMES), the notification to install the same update keeps coming back every time I boot. How do I make go away. Thanks,
The System Summary is as follows:
Item Value OS Name Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Version 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4 BUILD 2195 System Manufacturer Dell Computer Corporation System Model XPS1000 System Type X86-based PC Processor x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 6 GenuineIntel ~997 Mhz BIOS Version 07/31/00 Windows Directory C:\WINNT System Directory C:\WINNT\system32 Boot Device \Device\Harddisk0\Partition1 Total Physical Memory 261,424 KB Available Physical Memory 77,160 KB Total VIRTUAL Memory 893,312 KB Available Virtual Memory 467,060 KB Page FILE Space 631,888 KB Page File C:\pagefile.sysWhich Windows update? Are you USING automatic updates?if its your automatic updates......u can right click my computer icon..click properties......click automatic updates..and click turn off automatic updatesThe automatic update feature happens to be “on” in my computer, but my question is not related to whether I should download the updates automatically or manually. It relates to an update (KB832483) that has been already downloaded to my computer and the prompt to install it (in the lower right hand corner of the screen) comes up time and time again even thought installation has taken place time and time again (by double clicking on the icon). What I would like is to remove this prompt (icon?) from reappearing. Thanks, LGCarmonaDo some Googling.
