I MENT ADD & REMOVEIn the Add & Remove Windows Components section you will see those updates and you should KEEP the Update, Security, Hot Fixes, and Windows Genuine Advantage.

Your Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 is a very old version and security hole which should be removed / updated. Some games and applications use .NET, but I recommend getting a later version.

Microsoft Sliverlight is optional plugin for Internet Explorer, some websites use Silverlight, but are very few and it can be removed if wanted.

Microsoft Visual is either the Studios for programming development or the C++ runtime which is required for some games and applications to run. I recommend you keep that.

If you are trying to free up space, use a program like Advance System Care to GO through and remove the update backups, temporary files, and other junk.
