Answer» ----edit---- This page is private. Oops! You don't have PERMISSION to view this page. Here's a link back to your home page. Flickr must be having a hiccup..but here ya go.. as i said it seems to be not format properly so the os may have been installed 1.5 times try double clicking D:\ drive in my computer but i doubt it will workWell everything is working..or so I thought..LOL..this is going to be interesting I already see Quote under *My computer* shows the normal stuff..C, D, E, and F drive.......I know that is not what you want me to look at, so you may have to guide me a LITTLE bit more. That's exactly what I wanted Well, your C: drive is obviously the SYSTEM drive- if I had to guess, I'd say that D: was your optical (CD/DVD) drive, leaving "MYSTERY" E and F drives. One way- another screenshot- Start->Run "diskmgmt.msc" This should show you all your drives, as well as what kind they are @smeezekitty: No. Windows was installed twice. D: drive was probably already taken by the optical drive when the second install was made, so when you boot into the first installation it lists the second partition after the optical drive. (drive letter assignment is a bit more confusing with NT then with DOS/9x)- wether E: or F: is the "actual" partition is yet to be seen.F: may be an external driveHere ya go Got your normal C: drive and the D and E (had a disc in there, hence it said BMT) are both CD Rom drives....then I have normal removable drives that I had in there via USB ports. so that means that the other entry in boot.ini is simply invalidyes.... speaking of which we never asked... can you boot to the second option? Just delete the line: CODE: [Select]multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect from your boot.ini and all should be well again. And so I deleted that extra line....and.....she fixed I think that is what I did the last time ..... now to write down note in case it ever happens again THANKS!!!! to all of you that helped me sorry to have dragged you on that wild goose chase, always best to be thorough. Oh no...wild goose chase is fine with me I am just happy it fixed now Now to figure out why out of all my computers, this one doesn't do VoIP well...LOL..but that is for another section to place that in... |
