Solve : Updates won't install?

Answer»

Newbie here. Hello everone.
I have just started experiencing a problem with automatic updates not installing. When I click on Icon and then click for installation a dialog box comes up an tells me that the list of updates did not install. The only option is to click OK. When I do this updates download again and the scenario repeats itself. Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksI assume you mean the automatic updates for Windows itself. What version of Windows are you using, and is there any error code?Sorry about that. Windows XP Pro SP3. Automatic Updates is what I am inquiring about. No error messages. Also when I shut the computer down the updates seem to try to install, but when I boot back up the updates download again then the process starts over again. What updates are they? Can you check?

Ok. Any suggestions on how I can stop Windows Update from continually trying to download them? Aside from turning updates off. That was a question.

Are you saying that they cannot be installed into Windows?Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on August 18, 2008, 07:10:55 AM

Sorry, I missread your POST. Correct they will not install into windows. When I click to install, the dialog box comes up saying that the downloads did not install. When I click close, Windows starts downloading them again. This process just keeps repeating itself.Does this happen to be a real copy of Windows XP or a fake copy?Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on August 18, 2008, 07:19:54 AM

I just recently had this computer built. I took the original XP-PRO disk to the builder and I asume that he used it. This was a legal Microsoft disc that I purchased.I found this here:
