i have computer this is win xp prof (HP) this computer i am using last 3 years but i'm attending one problem while i'm using USB webcam suddenly its going to restart without any message i install service pack 3 also i update all things but STILL i can't find this solution so can you help me ANYONE how to slove this porblem plz can me

ThanksPower supply might be weak. USB devices are powered off of computer power supply. What happens when you plug other USB devices in?

You could also be hitting a general protection fault causing a hard crash reset, although those are more common with the earlier windows versions such as 95 and Me. Have you checked the system log under system management event viewer to see if windows shows any reason for this?

Also did this cam work on this system and then one day decide to do this or has this cam been just recently INTRODUCED causing the problem?To check if there are any errors cause by any hardware or software upon computer's sudden restart --> When in desktop

1.Right-click My Computer icon
2.Choose Properties, click on Advanced Tab
3. Under Start-up and Recovery, Click Settings
4. On System Failure, Uncheck Automatically Restart, Click OK. Exit
Now insert the device you mean of having problem with and let's see if it produces any kind of error messages upon sudden restart.
