Solve : usb adaptor for null modem serial connection - com8? |
|
Answer» I have a laptop that doesn't have a serial port and need to connect via null MODEM serial connection to an HP B2600 cpu running Unix. I have a Keyspan usb ADAPTOR I USED on a different laptop, which worked fine because the com port defaulted to COM3--which Tera Term Pro can handle. On the new computer, the port defaults to com8, which cannot be handled by Tera Term Pro because it only handles up to com4. Does anyone know a way to modify the com port numeric designation on Windows XP to be com4 or below, or know of a freeware or inexpensive serial terminal emulator that can handle a com8 designation of the com port? |
