Solve : USB devices not being detected?

Answer»

USB devices are not being detected on my WINDOWS 2000 PC. The only reason I can think for this is that I mapped a number of drives, but these have all now been disconnected. I have re-booted the PC but they are still not being detected. No matter what USB device I connect they do not DISPLAY in Computer Management / Storage / Disk ManagementTry this. Go to Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager...locate your USB Root Hubs and right clik all of them and select Remove. You will recieve a warning message ...ignore it.
Re-boot the machine and Windows will automaticallly REINSTALL the USB device drivers.
Plug in a USB DRIVE and wait a few minutes then check it in Disk Management.
