Solve : USB Issue?

Answer»

I was wondering ifff there is a way to stop a USB port from saying unknown DEVICE when the device works? I have a device hooked to the port and after a cold start the USB unknown device error shows up. If I unplug the device and plug back into the same usb port it works fine. also happens on both ports that I have. Windows 7 32-bitWhat is this device your plugging in exactly make/model? Bottom of keyboard should have a label with info make/model etc?KB-USB819EB S/N: IMJS013080118256- is all it saysWOW ... Google only had 1 hit of someone selling some used ones in 2012. Other than that only your post for help here shown on Google. With keyboards as cheap as they are these days, would you consider buying a new keyboard or REPLACING it with another you may already have available to you?

With no info on google to go with... trying to dig up a cause is just about impossible for this. USB keyboards are pretty cheap these days unless you want a nice gaming one for $80 etc. I personally just use the HP keyboard that came with my system, but its also not USB, it is PS2 connection. For systems that only take a USB connection and have no PS2 port, I have a $30 cordless logitech that came also with a cordless mouse that connect to a USB device that plugs into USB port and it sits up on top of computer. I can then type from like 20 ft away from the luxury of a recliner etc on the 36" flat screen.Quote from: DaveLembke on May 06, 2014, 08:09:34 PM

If you search the model number, that first hit for usedRegina.com lists it as a "iMicro USB 107KEY", if you google for that there are far more hits, including amazon.com.

It sells new for something like $6.50, which is cheap. If ANYTHING I'd say it was cheaply made and might not conform to USB specifications for HID devices properly.
It works and has been working
$6.50...i'd definitely hang on to it even if i was having keyboard issues and considering replacing it...Quote from: LLckfan on May 29, 2014, 06:38:14 PM

I never said it didn't work and hadn't been working. I said it is cheap and as a result cheaply made and one of the side effects of being cheaply made is a lack of attention to DETAIL to such things as properly supporting USB interface protocols. That doesn't NECESSARILY prevent it from working but can cause it to act strangely as you've witnessed. USB device not recognized specifically could be caused by the device indicating it is a composite device and sending invalid information for one of them.If you're still experiencing that problem you could try this. Shut down your computer and remove the electric plug from the outlet. Re-connect the plug and re-boot.I have done that
still hav e the issue
