Answer» Operating System is Windows XP.
Computer was in stand-by mode and brother sat down to do something and when he tried moving the mouse nothing would happen. I went to trouble shoot the problem, i have basic computer KNOWLEDGE, but I see nothing I can do. I switched out both the keyboard in the mouse with OTHERS, they will also not work. I booted up with only 1 connected at a time incase one was failing and for some reason causing the others not to respond, none work. When I first start up computer, like when you can press f8 ect for system options they will work, but right after that when the computer starts to boot up the lights on the keyboard and mouse go out. I have a usb internet card that still works in all the usb slots. And they keyboard and mouse do not work in any of the slots.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated =]Try PS/2 keyboard/mouse.Is that the cord mouse and keyboard that PLUG into the circle SLOT"?Yes.Make sure you are fully powered down before swapping them...Ok, will I be able to go back to the usb ones afterwards or what? Im trying to locate my old mouse and keyboard atm
Ok I cant find them. Anything else I can do?You can't do much more, since you can't navigate inside Windows. Call friends, FAMILY members....or...you'll make good investment by buying any cheap PS/2 keyboard, and mouse. Yours is very good example, why everyone should have a set at home.
