Since it's Vista, when you're DONE with sfc...
Navigate to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder. You'll see CBS.log file.
Usually, it's pretty big file, so upload it here: http://www.uploadbigfiles.net/, and post download link.
My computer denies access to that file and won't let me upload it.Are you on the Admin account ? ?Quote from: patio on January 04, 2009, 08:05:26 AM

I guess. I bought and setup the laptop. I never set any admin passwords or anything.Take ownership of CBS.log: http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13157
Were you actually able to RUN sfc?I do not think so. When I entered the command in run, nothing HAPPENED. TH run box just disppaears and that is it. I am going to ty it ight now....brb..nope, nothing. type "run" into the search box under start. Type sfc /scannow into the run box, hit ok, run box disapears. Thats it.Depending on your system sfc will sometimes run that fast if there are no file ISSUES...
