Answer» I bought a friends computer a few days ago. It has WinXP on it. The problem was that he had so much crap on it that I did not want, and also when he was online sometimes it would just kick him off. I DECIDED to re-install WinXP ONTO the computer. After installation, at the screen to put your name and password in so you can use your comp. it had his name and I DONT know his password. I thought that re-installing WinXP would wipe everything about him and just give me a fresh new WinXP to put my things on. I guess the question is how do wipe my computer and put my WinXP back on thier so that I am the owner and not him, and or how to bypass his password and how to make me the admin. and take him off?Can't you ask your friend for the password?Boot to Windows CD. Remove all partitions, format, and THEN install Windows. This must be "missing password" Month...When is it not? Quote When is it not?Good question....LOLWhen you were uninstalling, if you had a cd, it would ask you for a NTFS quick format do not do that ONE. Do the NTFS full format or whatever. Also, not FAT32 If the recovery is on the hdd, you need to check that is is on destructive recovery, which means it will destroy all of the information on the computer. |
