Solve : USER SETTINGS IN WINDOWS XP?

Answer»

hi
by DEFAULT, when u create a user in windowsxp, a folder (c:/documents and settings/) is created in c:

is there anyway i can choose my own directory and DRIVE for the user settings?Yes Yes you can!!

Ill tell you how now

Do This

Right Click on My Computer, click Properties
Go to the Advanced Tab .... Wonder why my comp is being gay ahh its working now
in the user profiles box click Settings
Then you can copy the profile to a new location

now i think you have to do something ELSE as well , i just need to check...

now if your on home you cant do this , but on pro its fine

Start->Run> mmc

MMC
File->Add Remove Snapin
Click the Add button at the Button
Find Local Users and Groups
Click Add
Click OK, Click Close

Now you Should see
Console Route
+--Local Users and Groups

Expand that
Open the users folder
Find your user
Right click, properties
open the profile tab
and then Click Browse

Why do you want to CIRCUMVENT the normal Windows approach to this?I was thought that was the normal approach,

i was leaned on windows 2000, there a few Features on XP that i don't know about.

If theres an Easyer way Fire it off
