Answer» Good Evening,
I'm running Windows XP Home.
Today I THOUGHT I would clear out old and seldom used programs using Windows Add & Remove Programs. All went well until I noticed that one program I had removed still showed up in the list. I tried again and this time I got an error message:
'Could not open logfile' etc.
So I checked my listing where the file was meant to be and that folder was gone.
This also has HAPPENED on another program.
How can I delete these from the listing?
Thank you Tarabluejavascript:replaceText(' ', document.forms.postmodify.message); Huh? If it has already been removed, use CCleaner to remove it from the list. It will also clean other junk, including registry entries, if you ask it to. Just be careful with it. Refer to this guide to set it up before use. Hope this helps, and welcome to the forum.Helllo Calum,
Never heard of this program before, I'm reluctant to use ones's like Ashampoo as they destroy more than you ask for, but I'll give this one a try.
Thank You TarablueCCleaner is safe to use as long as you follow the guide and are careful. The only potentially dangerous thing is the Registry cleaner, but CCleaner can make a backup of the registry before you begin. Let us know how it goes.I'll affirm what Calum said. CCleaner is safe. It also has an uninstaller which can be used, in lieu of Windows Add or Remove Programs panel, to remove programs. To find it, click on Tools. If running CCleaner's Windows scan and ISSUES scan does not get RID of that program you removed that still shows up in the Add or Remove Programs list, try using CCleaner's uninstaller. And if that FAILS too, you can use the same panel to delete the entry from Add/Remove Programs.
