Answer» Hi,
I use Windows XP Home Edition which was installed by the Manufacturer and have encountered a problem and looking for asssitance from someone who perhaps have or had a similar problem. When starting my COMPUTER an on screen message was displayed to say windows could not start as the following file was corrupt or missing: (windows\system32\config\system I attempted a repair using a windows recovery disk (fix it yourself)(BOOTABLE CD) only to be left with a message Operating System not found. SONY did provide a recovery and documentation disk if I use this it will re-formatt my hard drive and I will loose all SAVED data. I have a Windows XP disk and wish to install this. I have accessed my Phoenix BIOS Setup Utillity to change the boot order but on the boot menu the LIST is Optical Drive, Hard Disk Drive, Floppy Disk Drive and Network. I disabled all drives but still unable to install windows xp. Assisatance would be greatly appreciated.
