ok in other words, does anyone have an idea why my monitor is crashing? (best way i can DECRIBE it without being foulmouthed) my mouse will freeze,my comp beeps once, then the screen goes black, so i have i to reboot just to get my screen back, even though im pretty sure everythiing else is still running, acts like if it went into standby,the light goes orange and so on. and after many frustrating reboots i caught that verclsid .exe an one other exe i wasnt  able to get quick enuff, in my task manager im pretty upset about what could be happening . is this the cause ........its XP home,sp2 ...........im new i dont know what  else to say bout it  that will help..
any HELP would be greatly  appreciated........

Does this problem still happen in Safe Mode

How long has it been happening?well ihad some  electricity problems , and yeah i googled it to  and figured u guys wood b much more helpfull..but long story short, electricity got turned off..when it came bck on my mother turned off my comp properly but i guess it downloaded some updates .. so u see why im LOST
and olny a day at most
i THOUGHT my monitor had finally just died but..i dunno doesnt seem right to me
 if that makes an sense to u Hmmmm.....

Firstly, go to Device Manager and look for any Yellow Question Marks or Exclamation Marks.

Then I would try another monitor.


Does the computer still 'shut down' in Safe Mode?no yellow markers or conflicts i can see... havent tried safe mode yet, DIDNT think it would help in this case
i thought the monitor also, untill i saw it pop up in my task manager,and googled it

You mentioned in your previous topic something about being on for 20 minutes and then 'shutting down' to some sort of low power STATE?
no lol not a low power state.. it freezes,beeps,and goes black, so i have to restart just to get the screen back. eractically..20 minutes 3 times in 20 minutes,
its been ok so far for about an hour  tho  so who knowsStrange...
