Did you follow instructions from here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;282599
to prevent ctfmon.exe from starting, because I still can see it:
- O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe

How is your computer doing overall?

After all these changes, you may want to run CCleaner again.what microsoft progam am i trying to disable in the add or remove programs?Did you go to my link, and actually read that article?well i was and it says click change on the office program you are trying to disable but i dont know which one to do.

In the Currently installed programs LIST, click to select Microsoft Office XP product, where Office XP product is the NAME of the specific Office product being used.
You don't have any Office product installed?

How is your computer doing?i don't think so. well we do have trials but we haven't activated them so i guess they are installed. The computers actually RUNNING at a pretty normal speed. its kinda nice.I'm glad.

Go Start>Run, type in:
msconfig
Click OK.
Click Startup tab.
See, if ctfmon.exe is there. If so, uncheck it.
This is actually very minor issue, but it'd be nice to get rid of it.well i when i tried it gave me an error and said i may have to be logged on as an admin (i am) and i clicked ok and it CLOSED and asked if i wanted to rrestart my computer.

yeah Im satisfied with the speed now.Quote
