I turned my COMPUTER on about an hour ago (it had been fine before i went to work) and when I started it up I noticed that everything was blurred by a large mesh of horizontal and vertical lines, the lines were there from the time the manufacturers logo COMES on and never go away. It almost looks like the display is wearing a plaid outfit or something. I ALSO noticed that my resolution on my desktop is insanely low, and it only has room for maybe 8 rows and columns of icons. This doesnt change at all weven when I max the resolution out. I tried another monitor but had the same issues so at this point I am clueless.Looks like video card problem.
Do you have on-board video, or separate video card?
What Windows version?Sorry to forget my OS, its XP Home edition, and my video card isn't on board. Unfortunately I don't remember the exact make (I know it was a NVidia GeForce card though) and the answer to that question is blocked off by a wall of plaid.See, if display is normal in Safe Mode. To access Safe Mode, restart computer, and KEEP tapping F8 key, until menu appears.When I restarted the computer to boot it up into safe mode before I even started hitting buttons I noticed that it wasn't displaying any lines anymore. Its working fine now, no idea what fixed it. Maybe it just needed a few hours to figure out that plaid really isnt the BEST fashion choice.Sometimes, simple restart clears some issues.
