Answer» I curently abtained a new computer from a friend and the CPU works and the MONITER works but for some reason the VGA cord will not recognize the CPU and nothing show up on the screen. PLease help!? And fyi i KNOW practily nothing about computers.A LITTLE bit more information may help. What kind of computer is it? Is there a manufacturer logo or model number on it? Have you tried another VGA cable and/or a different monitor that you KNOW is WORKING?it is an Acer computer and an acer moniter and i have tried with another moniter and VGA cord and it does not work. model: ASPIRE 1700 windows vistaOh okay so it's a laptop computer? When you plug in the monitor, you have to hit a function key combination, most likely FN + F5Vista doesn't play well with others.....
