Solve : Virus/Malware? |

Answer» I got a virus EVEN though I use McAfee, then I got a Malware that said send MONEY and we will unlock your computer. Wasn't that STUPID( yet). Virus made every program I tried to RUN show as a virus and it said, cannot exe. It was driving me crazy, it locked out my optical drive-no reboot or b/u disk or . I finally got to boot in a safe mode, had locked out my BACKUPS on hard drive but I found the original load that Dell put on when I purchased the computer. It asked me to format and then load the installation. Lost everything but I got my system back up after a day . Spent two hours with M/S loading patches and then Loaded AVG. McAfee can ***(no help at all-none-zero) . So sometimes if you can get a program to run you can get rid of the virus. I was lucky, just lost replaceable files but if you have files that cannot be replaced, back them up separately on a DVD or thumbdrive or somewhere besides your computer. |
