On my laptop, i have v7. I have been TRYING to download acrobat reader 9.3, but the download STOPS at 7/12% with the message network connection failed. What do I have to do?

There's no such thing as "acrobat reader 9.3". There is Acrobat 9.3, and Adobe Reader 9.3.

Download Adobe Reader 9.3 (includes Acrobat.com on Adobe AIR). Another option is to download the full installer:
