Answer» I have heard that Vista and AOL are not compatible - is that true? We just bought a new computer, and Vista was the only option - couldn't get XP. We have dial up AOL, but now I am wondering if we're going to be able to use it. If this is true, is Vista compatible with Earthlink?I used Earthlink for several years until a change in the local DSL provider necessitated switching to EMBARQ. I never installed Earthlink's TotalAccess software; it was not needed. All I needed was my username and password to access Earthlink WebMail. I also had my Earthlink email account set up in Outlook Express and usually retrieved my mail that way. EVEN if you cannot avoid installing software from them, I can't imagine that it won't WORK with Windows Vista.
I don't know about AOL but I'd GUESS you do need to install their software. But, like Earthilink, I can't imagine that it won't work with Windows Vista. How many customers do you think they'd be willing to lose due to their software being incompatible with Vista? See what I mean? How many customers do you think they'd be willing to lose
