Solve : Vista display glitch? |
|
Answer» Brand new Toshiba Satellite laptop, running on Vista. Everything is fine until a minute into the "session" when a 2 inch white line appears at the very top. Annoying. Basically, some program is causing it, since it's not there when it starts. I uninstalled MacAfee (will install another) and Google bar, because they came up later, made no difference. How do I see the order that they load up so I can eliminate (possibly) the one loading up the GLITCH? I already tried reinstalling the display driver, too. k to be honest how does toshiba know the hardware is good? and plus you dont have a warranty?? I doubt Toshiba could determine this over the phone...unless they are the best tech's in the World. Warranty is the way to go. Although it would be nice to have the brand new laptop for your trip it obviously has problems...if you let it go til after the trip what if they say it was damaged in transit ? ? Then you're outta luck. Something to consider at least...Not a warranty issue. I figured out that the program that loads up causing the white line is a Toshiba program called flash cards - so not a Vista or hardware problem. The issue is that it doesn't disappear completely when it's supposed to, the white line (the very bottom of a "tab") stays on and will eventually burn the display on that spot. I'll try to uninstall the program if I can. If I can't, I'll call Toshiba and ask them how to do it - at least I HOPE so! Thanks for your input, I'm always willing to try to solve glitches by myself - with help from my friends glad you figured it out |
