I am new in here. I have win vista home premium tha when I turned on it takes ages to get the profile. It HANGS at "Please WAIT......" Yesterday evening til this morning. What could have caused it? Help plse.What is new or DIFFERENT since the last time everything worked PROPERLY (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?Nothing really. I turned it on yesterday after being to a birthday party to load photos but came up with the problem. Tried reboot twice but still the same. Would it be HW problem of some kind? Toshiba Sat L300System Unit.Try booting to safe mode. Does it boot normally?Thanks Allan,

I did boot in safe mode. It started up and stopped/hanged at the same state. It shows a black screen with the four corners of the screen with safe mode indication. I had tried repair with vista cd but says something about compatibility. (CD used Windows vista home premium is 32 bit one, THOUGH had already tried 64 bit)

ghk38Well, if it hangs in safe mode it sounds as though it is either a corrupt installation or a hardware problem. As much as I hate suggesting this, you might have to do a format and reinstall.
