Solve : Vista Mouse Pointers? |
|
Answer» Can anyone tell me why I can't set any other mouse theme other than Windows Aero default? I've been trying to set my classic Windows Whistler mouse pointers and it works but than resets after a restart. After telling windows to use it again and restarting I got a blue screen of death, then it resets back to default. ... get blood out of a stone for those who didn't get the picture...Well, I've heard "You can't get blood out of a turnip" but I never heard the stone version. It's like with XP or Vista, where you can change the color of active title bars and stuff, but it doesn't change anything unless your set to windows Classic. So, what cursor(s) did you try? I'm not familiar with "groovy Whistler mouses" or .ani or .cur file types. So, I'm still wondering: Quote from: soybean on February 01, 2009, 11:28:03 AM Vista has many options for pointer schemes. So if I set my DESKTOP to original mode (none shiny mode) then I can use .ani cursors?Quote from: Accessless What planet are you from? and no I did not make the picture for the situation just a random google.Earth. Been here QUITE a long time now. So if I set my desktop to original mode (none shiny mode) then I can use .ani cursors? Quote from: Accessless So if I set my desktop to original mode (none shiny mode) then I can use .ani cursors?Wasn't this question answered back in reply #1? OK it has become painfully obvious now that no matter what I change, I can not use .ani cursors any more. This is due (I think) to a security exploit of the .ani files in Vista. So from what I can gather their fix was to just reset any files associations to do with .ani's on a restart. So anyone know of software that I can use to convert my .ani's to .cur's? |
