Solve : Vista Never Ending Lag?

Answer»

I use Vista HP 32 bit with 3 gigs of ram and every time i turn around i ve got huge lag; and get i.e. not responding; Convert X not responding ; Yahoo Instant messenger not responding and can t connect to yahoo vitual sever and the scroll ing up/down has slowed to a crawl . . .

How do i take a crack at solving this annoying lag . . . thanks . .What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?

Have you run full system scans with BOTH your ANTIVIRUS app AND with MalwareBytes? If not, please do so.Added Procexp / UltraFile search and EZ Zip . . . I do use Malwarebytes / superantispyware and Avira and they nothing i can post logs here might be missing ! ?

I do wonder if i have to MUCH running or to much on msconfig.ex and who knows what ELSE - later . . Open msconfig and on the General tab choose "selective startup" (uncheck all three items) and reboot. Does the problem STILL occur? If not, start adding items back to msconfig one or two at a time, rebooting after each change, until the problem reappears and you'll have identified the offending process. This is clearly a time consuming process, but it is the best way to determine if some process loading with the system is the cause of your problem.Ok and yepp v v v time consuming . . .All good things are worth waiting for...

Or if you buy a new machine today i guess that would be quicker...Only if good things come but they NEVER ever do . . .Quote from: Verylost on May 02, 2011, 08:33:07 AM

Then don't bother to "waste" your time to fix the slowdown and other issues and instead waste time dealing with said slowdown and other issues.

Either take the time to fix it or waste your time to endure it, your choice.
