Solve : Vista premium won't boot up, gives long beeps? |
|
Answer» My 18 month old Packard bell won't boot up, there is NORMALLY a black screen and lond beeps. If I persevere by continually starting it up, it will eventually go into startup repair which sometimes fixes it. When it does boot up it works absolutely fine. What could the PROBLEM be?How many beeps? Packard model?Hi Broni, the pc just beeps continually. I put a new memory in and CHECKED it, so it's not that.Sory Packard model UTOW/CUBis this the post beep going crazy? does it go past post? No, the computer won't even begin to boot up. Even if it gets to the P.B. logo it just freezes. It's driving me crazy.Quote from: shoogles on September 18, 2008, 10:38:53 AM Hi Broni, the pc just beeps continually. I put a new memory in and checked it, so it's not that. Actually it could be that...how long since it was running properly and is RAM all you've added recently? ?About 6 weeks. I checked the memory using the windows recovery tool in maintenance, it was fine. Also got a firm to check and watched while they did and it was fine. This started after I downloaded Vista Service pack 1 (big mistake I think) though I've uninstalled it and restored the pc and it hasn't helped. Not my point...what RAM did you add and what RAM was already in there ? ? Most machines want MATCHING RAM to run properly... Not identical but at least the same speed...SORRY I misunderstood. It's the same RAM , the first one was definitely faulty |
